Like our congregation, the community in which we are located is quite diverse. We are located on Old Keene Mill Road (VA644), one of northern Virginia’s busiest commuter thoroughfares. To the west of our building lie expensive homes and some of America’s best schools in Fairfax County. To the east is the “mixing bowl,” the large area where the capital beltway meets I-95. One mile in either direction of our facility there are both very wealthy and poor areas, giving us a unique opportunity to become an economically and racially diverse church family from within our own neighborhood.
D.C. & Northern VA.
Located just 10 miles from the nation's Capital, Springfield is situated in one of the most exciting areas of the United States. In little more than 20 minutes (ok, so that's only in low traffic times) you can be driving up to one of the many Smithsonian museums or into the parking lot of professional sporting events. Mt. Vernon is nearby in Northern Virginia as are Arlington Cemetery, Old Town Alexandria, Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts, the new Air and Space Museum extension at Dulles and dozens of beautiful parks. Even at high traffic times the commute from Springfield is quicker than many places nearer to D.C. because the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes offer a good entry/exit point at Old Keene Mill Road. Travel an hour or two in the other direction (south) and you'll be headed to the beautiful Virginia beaches. Go west and you’ll be in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Northern Virginia is a great place to live and raise a family.
